Put simply, a tethered EV charge point has a charging cable physically attached to the device. This means that the cable remains attached to the device at all times and can only be used at home. Now something you must consider is your vehicle's connector. The latest electric vehicles are fitted with a Type 2 connector, this is currently set as the EU standard. Although, there are some charge points which allow you to lock in your cable which would make the charge point temporarily tethered.
